We are excited to be joined by students from Valley Regional High School, University of Connecticut, and Eastern Connecticut State University for this upcoming legislative session. We have already been getting to work with empowering the next generation of environmental leaders!

Environmental Summit
On January 21st, we attended the 26th annual environmental summit hosted by the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters. Students heard from CT’s climate experts, advocates, and leading legislators in preparation for the session.
TAV members Kellyn Kolber and Jenna Fowler reported on the event for our media partner, CT News Junkie. Check out the piece linked below!
Education

Pedagogy
Our educational sessions focus on 4 key topics: Environmental Science, Environmental Politics, Civics, and Journalism/Public Speaking. Our approach emphasizes the importance of environmental studies as an interdisciplinary field and demystifies the political process.

Empowerment
We created games like “Jenga of Doom” and “Goal Barrier Solution” to help students talk about the serious implications of climate change. Whether it is encouraging vulnerability through discussion of emotions, or planning feasible solutions to problems, TAV members are feeling empowered to fight this battle.
