SB 453: An Act Concerning A Climate Change Related Surcharge On Certain Insurance Policies

“As a high school student, I have experienced school shooter drills first-hand. I acknowledge the fact
that I have not been scarred by a real-life active shooting. However, many young students across our
country, who are my age, have. School shootings affect students much younger than I am, leaving
families with trauma, and without justice for their loved ones. To put that into perspective, I am only
17. “Thoughts and prayers,” as our federal government has through and through offered in response
to school shootings, are not enough to get justice for the victims of such horrific events.”
